Frequently asked questions about VDI Agent
Does VDI Agent work on Citrix XenDesktop?
Yes. VDI Agent runs on your host machine and overlays the Citrix session window. It does not run inside the VDI session.
What does my IT or security team need to know?
Everything they will ask is on the /security page: exactly what leaves the endpoint, which providers receive it, what we store (no screenshots, no questions, no answers), which controls exist today, and what we do not have yet. If a tool reads a work screen, it belongs in the approved list or nowhere — we would rather your IT decided with the facts in front of them.
Do I need admin rights to run VDI Agent?
No. VDI Agent is a portable .exe that runs without installation, registry writes, or admin privileges.
What if my corporate DNS blocks AI websites?
VDI Agent connects through its own backend, so it works regardless of DNS configuration on your network.
What AI models does VDI Agent support?
Claude (Anthropic), GPT and o3 (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), DeepSeek, and Ollama plus the Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLIs for local models.
Is VDI Agent free?
Yes to start. Every new account gets 50 cloud AI requests once, with no credit card, plus unlimited local AI — Ollama and the local CLI providers (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI) — free forever. For more cloud AI, Pro is EUR 19.99/month with 4,000 credits.
Does VDI Agent read my screen?
Yes, VDI Agent can read visible screen content via OCR to answer questions about what you are looking at.
Can I use my own API keys?
Not yet. A BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) plan is on the roadmap. Today cloud AI routes through the VDI Agent backend — no API keys to manage — and local providers (Ollama, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI) use your own local setup.
What operating systems does VDI Agent support?
Windows 10 (build 19041 or later) and Windows 11.
Is my data safe?
VDI Agent scrubs personally identifiable information before transmitting any data. Queries are not stored on our servers.
Does VDI Agent work on Azure Virtual Desktop?
Yes. It works on any VDI platform where you have a Windows host machine running the VDI client.
